Wireless field notes
I'm Justin Schofield, a wireless engineer. This is my personal notebook: field notes on 802.11 design and site surveys, and a small RF lab you can try in the browser.

My First Critical Situation in Healthcare Wireless
Field notes from a one-day hospital assessment: co-channel interference, spectrum analysis, and what I learned walking critical care floors for the first time.

Place a router. Watch the coverage change.
A sample home with a predicted Wi-Fi heatmap. Drag the router to another room, add a second access point, or change what the walls are made of, and see how the signal reaches each room.

The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz figures are the share of the home with a strong signal (−67 dBm or better). This is a simplified log-distance model for learning and exploring. It is not a substitute for a real survey.

03 — About
I came to wireless by way of cybersecurity and network engineering. These days most of my time goes to wireless design, site surveys and troubleshooting.
I write here to work out what I'm learning and to share it with people on the same path.
